Unbelievable! Aleksandar Rakic made history on August 1, 2024 at UFC Serbia, defeating Marcin Tybura by unanimous decision. After more than five years without a win in the Octagon, the Austrian fighter of Serbian descent finally broke his drought and made a strong comeback in the heavyweight division.
At 32, Rakic proved he can still dominate, despite a long layoff. Facing a Tybura visibly slowed by age and lack of rhythm, the Austrian showcased his exceptional mobility and technical precision. The judges, unanimous, praised his clinch dominance, where he neutralized his opponent’s rare offensives.
Without a spectacular highlight-reel moment, Rakic built his victory point by point, imposing a pace that Tybura couldn’t keep up with. The crowd, sometimes impatient with his tactical approach, was ultimately convinced by the solidity of his performance. A win that revives his career in the premier division and opens new doors for this fighter with a journey full of obstacles.
With this victory, Aleksandar Rakic proves he remains a key player in UFC heavyweight. His return to form is great news for MMA fans, who now hope to see him string together high-level performances.
